On November 3rd, 2016, around 8:00 PM, Sofia Live Club was full of people who love with all their heart the Bulgarian folklore and most of all, the way the ethno-jazz band Outhentic reinterprets it through their own uniquе style.
The event attracted not only hundreds of music enthusiasts but also prominent figures from the Bulgarian music scene, who gathered in the capital’s club to say “YES” to quality Bulgarian music. At the beginning of the concert, the band Outhentic appeared on stage in their usual lineup—Zhivko Vasilev (kaval, piano), Rayna Vasileva (vocals), and Viktor Djorgov (guitar). But not for long! One of the surprises for the audience was that the stage kept filling up, as guest musicians joined them, including Stoyan Yankoulov – Stundzhi (drums), Kalin Jechev (piano), Dimitar Sirakov (bass), Tsvetan Andreev (acoustic guitar), Hristiyan Tsvyatkov (electric guitar), Simeon Leonidov (cajon), Gabriela Partovska (hip-hop vocals), Hristo Kolikov (vocals), as well as one of the group’s earliest and most devoted fans, Anatoli Tonev (acoustic guitar).
Outhentic delivered captivating performances of all ten tracks from the YesToday album, with Zhivko and Rayna sharing the story behind each song in an engaging and humorous manner. The performances were so genuine, pure, and impressive that, at the end of the concert, the audience called everyone back on stage for an encore. They delighted the crowd with an additional collaborative piece performed with the Bulgarian band DelPadre. Rayna Vasileva shone on stage in an outfit that beautifully combined current fashion trends with accessories featuring traditional folk motifs. She wore stunning silver pafti (ornamental belt buckles) and silver earrings adorned with pendari (traditional coin-like decorations).
After the event, a large crowd gathered outside the club, with everyone eagerly waiting to purchase the album. To cater to all preferences, the band and organizers had ensured that the album was available both on physical CDs and in digital format online.
This was followed by numerous congratulations, as each guest personally greeted the musicians, accompanied, of course, by group photos, selfies, and autographs.
